I like Macaroni Grill - as they walk you to the quaint Tuscany style seating, they hand you crayons at the table covered by large pieces of white paper. the waitress/waiter draws their name usually upside down, using 2-3 crayons and with fancy swirls... yesterday i went again. this time with a family and their 4 children who immediately began to draw all the things they knew how to draw. symbols from video games, bunnies, hawks with mice in beak, cartoonish faces, scribbles and scratches. they intuitively know the need for more colors. they took all the colors leaving me with only green and blue. not that i complain - i should know how to color with less... it made me think: did you ever notice that there are only four colors at Macaroni Grill?
RED, BLUE, GREEN & PURPLE....i end up having to think monochromatically with everything i draw: grapes which happen to be purple, bread which is green and blue, even the wine can be done with blue-purple-red... sometime i long for black and brown. i sit there as an adult wishing i could have all my colors with me. at least a box of eight, preferably a box of 24, ad definitely in heaven with a 96 count. having said this, i think i will write a comment to the MG about their color selection. Of course they want to keep in thematic with Italian, and their logos. but real artists (even children artists) like to have more colors. I found a link where I can leave suggestions...
CLICK HERE TO TELL MACARONI GRILL
Tell them TWO things: ONE add at least a black and brown... TWO when there is great art left at the table, take a digital shot and give us a place to post it online.
I'd go there often just to color before I eat! A bonus would be to save the art somewhere on their site...
