the business of fine ART

it appears that making a living with art doesn't just fall in to place. especially when full time work to survive takes so much from the creative artist. this has been my struggle since i first wanted to be a painter. family, work, raising sons (the best gift on earth to any woman - i might add!) and everything in between. i have been in a spot when art was a total focus and it felt so right. paintings just flowed like a turned on spigot - everything touched became a work of art. but that was for just a season of my life. a certain shipwreck happened and it's taken 12 years to recover.. art remains my passion, but a career was necessary to keep life in the US going forward. it takes money to live comfortably.

i have worked in business now for 6 years and learned the other side of just being artist. it was necessary to learn the support of myself all these years. to be strong and knowledgeable about money, business and more. SO now with both sides covered, it seems to be time to put it all together. I sorely want to create some type of market whereby artists/graphic designers/illustrators can live off the work of their hands and creativity. i know it will come to me one way or another. meanwhile i am easing myself back into producing artwork now and then...
